MUMFORD AND SONS

Since they formed in December 2007, the members of Mumford & Sons have shared a common purpose: to make music that matters, without taking themselves too seriously. With each release i find their music  gets brighter, bolder and brawnier, with an increasing focus on their empassioned and intimate lyrics. their certainly a band to take a listen to... and hopefully one day (fingers crossed) they'll make their way down to SA....

WALTER VAN BIERENDONCK FALL/WINTER @ PARSI FASHION WEEK

I REALLY DO LOVE IT WHEN A DESIGNER PUTS ON A RADICAL SHOW WITH A GREAT SENSE OF GOOD TASTE AND IMMACULATE BALANCE BETWEEN WEARABLE AND CREATIVE VISION. AND EVEN MORE THAN THAT A SHOW THAT GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO BREAK SOME OF THE CURRENT NORM'S AND CHALLENGE THE FASHION WORLD. KUDOS. WALTER ,HOWEVER YOU SPELL HIS SURNAME, IS ONE DESIGNER TO WATCH OUT FOR.....I'LL BE KEEPING TABS ON HIM FOR A LONG TIME TO COME.

although i have always found issey miyake scents more favourable than his clothes, this fall he's come up with something that quite unique. my only objection is the fact that the boots his mare make the looks a little too heavy on the eyes. other than that, the balance between wearable and contemporaneity is uncannily good.

D&G FALL 2011

ALL IMAGES SOURCED FROM THE FASHIONISTO WEBSITE

milan fashion shows

This years fall ushers in a good variety of mens wear with the major takers hosting some of the most edgy shows and lines. Most notable being the design duo's at D&G and the D-squared brothers. i'll say no more and let you take a look for yourselves.
First up: D&G with their unique adaptation of the 70's and 80's funk regime in a 21st century context.
