SA HOUSE DJ: CRAZY WHITE BOY

It’s a shame South Africa isn’t know as a major producer of electronic music. Native-born EDM house genre kwaito has certainly increased the popularity of electronic music, and South African DJs enjoy a wide fanbase around the country and increasingly around the world.

Capetonian duo Crazy White Boy (aka Ryan Murgatroyd and Kosta Karatamoglou) and fellow South African vocalist Ruegroove teamed up to produce “Love You Better”, a simple and funky track that contains vocal elements of R&B and 90s house music and the unmistakable rhythms found in South African electronic music.

check them out, you'll be blown away!

DAZED AND CONFUSED: DANIEL RADCLIFFE

After watching the new Harry Potter movie a friend of mine bought the latest DAZED AND CONFUSED mag which features Daniel Radcliffe on the cover. It all got me thinking about how movie stars have been the mainstay on fashion magazines for the last 20 years or so....a characteristic of the POP print world that can be solely attributed to Anna Wintour, specifically throughout her reign as "Pope" of the fashion world.  Anna you are my hero. :)
Here are a few pics from the editorial that accompanied his latest interview with the magazine in which he divulges details for the future.... one of which is the fact that he's planning on having lots of sex with broadway girls!
Enjoy.... its an interesting take on his plans to venture into the fantastical world of theatre.

ARTIST ON THE MOVE: WANGECHI MUTU

Wangechi Mutu uses collage as a means of both physically and conceptually bringing layered depth to her work. Using images cut from fashion magazines, National Geographic, and books about African art, Mutu pieces together figures which are both elegant and perverse. Individual body parts comprised of found 'objects' are made to seem like odd prosthetics glued over torsos and limbs drawn in ink. (EXCEPT TAKEN FROM: saatchi-gallery.co.uk)

TERRENCE BRAY 2011 WINTER SHOW

TERRENCE BRAY  who has been quiet for quite a while made a comeback this season hosting an uncharacteristic show of clothes to get us through the winter season. Unfortunately I will not be one who will be sporting anything from this collection. Why? Although the the collection was rather interesting i felt that a lot of it fell too far onto the gimmicky side of fashion. Not only that but I felt that the show was more invested in the womenswear than the menswear(no surprise there).

Although there were more misses than hits here are a few shots from the runway show. Good to knows he back on the bandwagon again....:)

GAVIN RAJAH BESPOKE

Jesse Leigh-Elford photographs Piero Puccini for the launch of Gavin Rajah’s made to order bespoke suits. The South African label will present a preview of their collection during the upcoming menswear shows in Paris this January.

CHIN UP!

Vogue US takes their first look at the spring collections with David Sims’ Straight Up. Starring Raquel Zimmermann as a fiery redhead, the story features glitz and glam looks from the likes of Jil Sander, Miu Miu, Gucci and more styled by Camilla Nickerson. I like!
